Established 2006 in Glasgow.UK city centre as an environmentally friendly (sole trader) cleaning company.  

 

My aim is: to clean a customers premises safely without risk to anybody's health! To an 100% acceptable standard!

 

So far this has been achieved and I can supply references from Doctor, enviromentalists & Yorkhill doctors.

 

My BIG aim is: be the prefered choice of environmental companies In Glasgow, I can sort all waste, to be uplifted cheaper than your Glasgow city council waste sacks (glasgow city waste sacks go straight to landfill), are you content with this scenario?

 

I am have always been concerned with the environment but most recently I noticed cleaners all seemed to be suffering similar health problems, therefore the health aspect of cleaning kicked in! The unions TUC, Hazzards etc.. are on the case of slips, trips, falls & repetitive strain injury! although unaware of: the chemical poisoning on a daily basis to cleaners & clients of regular cleaning products is a problem.   The london bombings was a result of mixing cleaning chemicals! SCARY: you better believe it!

 

Daily: I say to cleaners "do you know what's in that bottle" they answer "who cares as I am not drinking it"!!! Scary: YES!

 

I have worked in the cleaning industry for over 20 years, mostly in Glasgow but also London and elswhere, from homes, offices & hospital operating theatre's. 

 

I have worked for numerous cleaning companies and seem to have worked in most environments.  I progressed from cleaner to supervisor then contract manager for some of the bigger companies such as ISS 'International' and OCS Scotland where I recieved BICS* training  to management level.  

 

During this time I also studied for a degree in quality management from Strathclyde University (I graduated in 2000 with a BSc in Quality Management). 

 

For the past 6 years I have been working Freelance as a troubleshooter for numerous large cleaning companies in Glasgow & Paisley to save their contracts! 

 

My intention is to introduce quality to the cleaning industry, by this 'I mean a reliable cleaning service together with a safe working and living environment for you,your family, your employees as well as the cleaner'. 

 

A chance statement from a client promted me to research the cleaning industry further, the statement was "you do work with some mighty dangerous chemicals, but I suppose you are trained on how to use them".  I started to take photo copies of the labels and look them up online when I got home! I very seldom used the chemicals supplied by cleaning companies as they made a bigger mess than the mess you were trying to clean, a nice clean damp cloth cleaned most situations except kitchens and bathrooms where limited chemicals were necessary.  My online research startled me as the ingredients in the chemicals were known to cause cancer, birth defect and all sorts of problems to the user and the recepient.

 

Phoned Friends of The Earth Scotland for advice on how to Decipher the "safety data sheets which are never on site" Phil was a chemical scientist and could not understand them!
